"We were nervous and we didn't
know we could do it. Those machines had kept going as long as we could
remember. When we finally pulled the switch and there was some quiet, I
finally remembered something...that I was a human being, that I could stop
those machines, that I was better than those machines anytime." Sit-down

Nissan
On A Roll
We are just a group of folks that work for Nissan
Motor Manufacturing Corporation. We believe that our best interests could
be served by a union. This site is just one of the more effective ways we
stay in touch with each other and let the world see what we are doing. Thanks
for all the suggestions!
Workers'
Compensation is a hard thing to understand, but if you talk to the right
people it can put your mind at rest. Below is a list of Attorneys who work
in the Murfreesboro area. They have helped a lot of Nissan employees over
the years and we know they can help you as well. They practice areas include
Labor,
Law, Employment
Law, Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability
Law. ( See Below )

Well, Its your Time, and your money, why not have the best on your side.
(From your In/plant committee Team)
Thanks for the
raise Jerry, But !
Jerry, It's not all about money. As we talk to you this March the
7th, 1998. Jerry has given the workers at
Nissan a 65-cent raise for line
workers which moves' us to $19.32 per hour,
and Maintenance gets' 75 cents',
witch moves' them to $22.69. Well,
to some people this is a lot of money,
right? Now, if you can only do this job for
only 5 more years', and you are
only 30 years' old, is the money worth
it? Or would it be better for
management to stay off your back. Is it fair
for workers to put up with so
much B.S. on the line from their supervisors'
or to have management say you
are not a good worker, when you give
them 110% every day. Man, this is a
crazy place. Even the workers in P.Q.A.
are going through this mess with
management. In P.Q.A. They look for defects'
which need to be repaired before
the units leave the plant, but if you find
nothing wrong with the car or truck
and someone damages the unit before it goes
out the door, well guess what,
thats right, It's your baby.
This story is told over and over on both shifts
in all parts of the plant. Man, this is a
crazy place. If you get hurt on the
line doing your job, and doing it at 110%
sorry, your out the door. Man, this
is a crazy place. One year management gives
us a 25-cent raise in a good year,
and 65 to 75 cents in a bad year. Man, this
is a crazy place.
Just this past Friday, I was working with this guy that had 3 back
operations, both hands, one neck
operation, and one elbow, and now he is
going out for his shoulder. Somehow this
guy is still at Nissan, if it was
me, I would have left after the
first operation. Man, this is a crazy
place. When we say crazy place, We are just
saying that Nissan has lost its
way on how it works with us at the plant.
We the workers at Nissan need
Management just to grow up, and not to treat
us as a group of children at
play. Even Gail Newman does nothing at all
to help with the problems in P.Q.A.
or in other parts of the plant, Why? ...
Is it better for her just to turn her
back on the problem, and It will just
go away. Man, this is a crazy place...
We think all workers at Nissan who read this
will agree, the time to start
the union movement again is not far away.
Nissan management is just laying
back doing nothing, and the movement
will start sooner then they think....
